Symone Emily Allen, 29, passed away suddenly, at home on Saturday, March 2, 2019. She was born in Galloway, New Jersey to the parents of Eugene and Kim Allen, Jr. Symone attended elementary school at St. Peter's Catholic School and Egg Harbor Township Elementary School. After graduating from EHT High School in 2008, Symone attended Atlantic Cape Community College where she warned an Associates degree in Liberal Arts.
Symone was currently employed by the US Postal Service as a mail carrier. She was a committed employee who went into work despite the extreme weather elements of heat or cold and rain. Symone enjoyed not only doing her job but also the personal interactions with all of the customers and people she met along her different routes. Symone also worked for Fanewill as a toll booth collector, on the AC Expressway, Forman Mills, Inc., as a front end supervisor and WaWa, Inc., as a customer service associate.
Symone was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. She joined the church when she was in elementary school. Symone was a member of the youth choir and praise dance ministry. She entered the Miss Mount Zion Pagent in 1998 and won second runner up. She loved worship, singing, and going to church to give the Lord his praise. During her teenage years, she was a cheerleader for the Pleasantville Jokers football team, a ballet, hip hop and tap dancer with the with the Uptown Dance Company and a helper with the girls basketball team at EHTHS.
ON July 31, 2017, Symone gave birth to her son, Khai Eliyah. Becoming a mother was one of Symone's greatest joys. She was a devoted and loving mother who took the time everyday to thank God for blessing her with a healthy baby boy who looks and displays a loving personality exactly like hers. She was teaching him how to sing and dance. Symone always made an effort to take Khai out to interact with others. It was one of our very few differences we had. We, as his grandparents and brother were concerned about him getting "germs." She would simply say, "I'm taking him out and don't worry mom and dad, God has him covered."
Symone loved her family dearly. She was a beautiful person. She was hardworking, outgoing, fun-loving, and easy going. She loved people and saw the good in everyone she met. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her bright smile and infectious laughter filled any room she entered. Whenever the family would go anywhere, we always had to wait for Symone to finish her goodbyes and well wishes before we could leave.
Symone leaves to cherish her memory, her son Khai; her parents, Kim and Eugene Allen, Jr.; her brother, Eugene Allen III.; niece Emayah Allen; two nephews, Christopher Cist and Eugene Allen IV.; uncles and aunts, James Chambers (Pamela), William Chambers, Darryl Chambers, Michael Allen, Valeria Chambers, Polly Harmon, Shakira Charriez, and Therese Barlowe; fifteen first cousins, Aaron, Stacy, Pamela, Kelly, James, Meredith, Mercedia, Ricky, Monique, Rahshanda, Zachary, Zakia, Ayanna, Martin and Theodore, Khaleef and Jamel; special friends Jessica Hurtado, Alyssa Fischers, Marissa Miller, Flo Johns, Quashana Smith and Earnest Alexander; and a host of cousins, friends and work colleagues.
