Obituary for Maurrell English

English, Maurrell, 83 of Pleasantville, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019. He was born on March 26, 1935 in Jefferson County, Alabama to the late Vann and Gurtha English.

He confessed Christ at an early age and until his death was a member of Second Baptist Church of Atlantic City under Pastor Rev. Collins A. Days, Sr. Maurrell was employed and retired from Wheaton Corporation where he worked for 20 years. He later worked for Bally's Casino in Atlantic City.

He was preceded in death by six brothers: Eugene, Timothy, Cecil, Freddie, Van, and Harold.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Lucille English of Pleasantville; sisters Jackie Fielder and Roberta Tate, both of California; brothers Theodore English (Ernestine) of Ft. Pierce, Florida, and Clarence English (Margaret) of Birmingham, Alabama; three sons, Ronald English (Michelle) of Deptford, New Jersey, Michael English (Dee) of Denver, Colorado, and Maurrell English (Chimwala) of Delaware; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Maurrell loved sports and was a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan. He loved the game of football, but what he loved most of all was his family. To God be the Glory for the life he lived.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 15th at 11:00am at Second Baptist Church, 110 Rev. Dr. Isaac Cole Plaza, Atlantic City. A viewing will be held from 10:00am until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville.
